Position Description/Overview:
- Comply with all sections of the Compliance policies and procedures;
- Provide and maintain a compliant working environment by adhering to all laws, regulations and ethical standards;
- Use transaction monitoring system to review unusual transactions and activities;
- Conduct online research on TM alert/case transacting parties;
- Send, follow-up and track Request for Information inquiries and responses;
- Compile appropriate supporting documentation (transaction csv, internet research and inquiry) with the alert and case investigations;
- Analyze investigation evidence and findings, and make proper judgment on potential suspicious activities;
- Draft review or investigation narratives for alerts/cases;
- Conduct Trade Finance transaction reviews;
- Draft SAR narratives and prepare SAR forms;
- Assist and support the AML team in other duties such as statistic collecting, and data analysis;
- Participate transaction monitoring system tuning and testing projects;
- Perform other AML compliance related duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university;
- 3 years in the field of BSA/AML experience at a financial organization and/or a regulatory agency;
- Must have prior experience reviewing correspondent banking relationships and transactions;
- Certificated Anti-money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) preferred; and
- Prior experience with Actimize system preferred.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- Maintain a current thorough understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, criminal activities and developing trends;
- Ability to prioritize and organize assignments;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must be able to work independently;
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and teamwork awareness;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
