Major financial services company with over $700 million in assets under management is building out their M&A Accounting Policy team. The firm operates in several investment markets such as:
- Asset Management
- Investment Banking
- Leasing and Asset Financing
- Commodity Trading
- Capital Raising
They had a great year in 2021 and have a great reputation in the industry. Their Global Capital Markets business is doing incredibly well which is the reason why they’re looking to build out this team. The group is viewed as more of an advisory to the business on all new accounting standards. Although the primary business of focus would be capital markets, this team will also have exposure to collaborating with asset management. This is a specialist position that acts as an essential accounting/finance advisor to the Global CFO.
Job Responsibilities
- Accounting issues management and resolution working across different businesses/areas of the bank and engaging multiple stakeholders
- Reviewing and approving of new products and complex transactions including contributing to transaction development
- Being responsible for implementation of new accounting standards and review and remediation as required for application of existing requirements
- Supporting for the design and delivery of technical accounting training materials to Finance colleagues, other support functions and front office
- Participating in industry forums to understand industry practice on interpretive or judgmental accounting policies
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience from the big 4 or financial services company with an understanding of financial products and accounting standards
- CPA is a plus
