EXTERNAL ROLE

Overview:

You will be responsible for managing a team of Leveraged Finance Credit Officers covering a defined set of industries. You will investigate risk limit threshold / breaches / near misses and prepare regular reviews of the exposure. Risk Specialists identify relevant risk mitigation actions in particular when exposures are in excess of limits or appetite and provide independent challenge to the Business / escalate where appropriate. You will make decisions and approvals based on their allocated authority level and for Credit Risk: assess risk / return ratio – and associated limit framework on client level for standard risk transactions, and assigns / approves credit ratings. In addition, for Liquidity Risk: oversees and validates the liquidity management framework applied by Treasury In addition, for Corporate Insurance: optimizes risk transfer solutions with external insurers and/or internal captive insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of VPs in the underwriting of Leveraged Finance transactions including LBOs, M&A financing, Dividend Recapitalizations, Refinancing, Loan participations, and other banking products
  • Evaluate suitability of proposed transactions in the context of internal and regulatory underwriting standards
  • Improve transactions risk profile by proposing enhancements based on prior deal experience, market knowledge and transaction-specific data
  • Approve loan commitments; Provide commitment recommendations and present to Underwriting Committee as well as Senior Management transactions exceeding professional approval threshold
  • Develop risk appetite for the covered portfolio; Assess and approve internal and regulatory ratings; Update Senior Management on industry and counterparty developments
  • Monitor and manage the covered portfolio, including identifying high risk exposure, maintaining watch list, recommending credit strategy and estimating reserves as appropriate

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor / MBA degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related degree
  • Credit analysis experience, thereof at least part in non-investment grade credit lending, including Leveraged Loan and High Yield structuring, financial modeling/forecasting, and understanding of derivative structures
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work under time pressure and multi task
  • Business line structuring and/or workout experience a plus but not required
