EXTERNAL CLIENT ROLE

Overview:
The Senior Mortgage Underwriter is primarily responsible for analyzing a mortgage application, reviewing the
financial risks, and recommending a credit decision. You must be comfortable discussing transactions with
clients when needed. You will also handle credit related matter associated with the portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:
• Reviewing the loan application with all the supporting financial documentation
• Preparing spreads from personal financial statements, bank/brokerage statements, tax returns, K-1s,
P&Ls, et cetera
• Completing a credit approval memorandum for risk management review
• Recommending eligibility decisions (approvals, denials, & counteroffers) and clearing underwriting
conditions as necessary
• Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and creating risk ratings in the Bank’s credit
system, GlobeR
• Performing credit matter associated with portfolio changes (rate modifications, releasing/adding
borrowers, changes in title, lot line adjustments, easements, etc.)

Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• Extensive experience in mortgage
• Knowledge of credit analysis, banking regulations, and related processes
• Ability to work with financial statements and complex tax returns
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize time sensitive tasks in an efficient manner
