Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Branch’s overall loan review strategy and program
- Manage department staff and external resources to execute the loan review strategy and program
- Coordinate loan review schedules, regulatory examination requests and internal audit requests.
- Perform, and directs staff to perform regular risk-based loan portfolio reviews on borrowing relationships within the entire commercial loan portfolio.
- Assess credit quality, including underwriting and borrower performance
- Evaluate the sufficiency of credit and collateral documentation
- Identify loans with potential credit weaknesses and any relevant trends
- Identify existing and/or emerging risks and credit issues relating to the credit quality and management of credit risk
- Evaluate internal risk ratings and U.S. regulatory rating assignments and identify any gaps in risk rating accuracy
- Review compliance with internal credit policies and procedures.
- Prepares summary write-up supporting loan review results, such as risk grade, repayment performance and ability, underwriting and documentation adequacy, accrual and TDR status
- Perform periodic testing of review findings to ensure adequate issue remediation
