Head of Chief Remediation (Office for the Americas)

You will be responsible for delivering specific aspects of the regulatory strategy. You will lead a team of specialist advisors and senior specialist advisors responsible for providing specialist advice on specific regulatory topics to a broad range of business and/or infrastructure stakeholders and ensure that the business and/or infrastructure functions they have coverage responsibility for are compliant with new rules and regulations as well as existing regulatory obligations. You will influence change and partner with other regulatory functions of the Bank. You are a subject matter expert (SME) on specific regulatory topics and may have ad hoc interactions with regional management when dealing with specific issues relating to their area of specialty tools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Chief Remediation Officer in delivery of Chief Remediation Office (CRemO’s) mandate in the Americas and with US regulators
  • Manage (and enhance, as necessary) remediation strategy and oversight model across the Bank’s remediation programs and in conjunction with external monitors and regulatory authorities
  • Manage program governance including action plans, reporting protocol, stakeholder management expectations, and working group terms of reference
  • Prioritize level of oversight across the Bank’s regulatory remediation programs based on maturity, progress, and risk
  • Clarify regulator/monitor requirements for remediation and/or certification across numerous areas of the Bank so that remediation owners may properly plan and deliver against the deadlines and Group Audit may timely validate remediation work
  • Streamline mobilization and engage with multiple stakeholders across all three lines of defense to drive, track and document delivery against remediation and/or certification criteria

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS with relevant experience and direct project management and/or remediation analysis experience
  • Strong leadership skills and direct team management experience
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and proactively and professionally engage with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare status reports including the synthesis and tracking of multiple initiatives, activities, and programs of work
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful, with ability to identify solutions to issues; strong attention to detail required

How You will Lead:

  • Coordinate with business process owners and the second line of defense to establish and oversee the application of controls and operational risk management policies to create sustainable solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks
  • Design and prepare regular internal and external reporting for various audiences including the Bank’s supervisory board and management board as well as regulators and monitors
  • Lead Americas CRemO staff from a people and performance management perspective
