Job Description
Our client is one of the largest full-service investment banking and brokerage firms in the nation. They are seeking a Senior HR Generalist for their Los Angeles office. This individual is responsible for assisting and providing support to the Senior Vice President of HR. The ideal individual will be a self-starter who is well organized and can handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven and evolving environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist and provide support to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and the entire HR division
- Act as point of contact for managers and other personnel by handling all HR-related matters in a timely manner including employee verifications, unemployment claims, interpretation of handbook policies, terminations, employee relations issues, HR-related research, and any other HR-related issues
- Take proactive measures to stay current on legislation to ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures
- Resolve Employee Relations issues by using a systematic approach to conduct employment-related investigations, provide counseling, and record key findings with supporting documentation
- Partner with managers to build, deliver, and follow through on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- Manage employee termination process by conducting exit interviews and coordinating with IT and Payroll departments in a timely manner
- Develop and organize employee transportation program, following Rule 2202 guidelines (must have or receive ETC certification from Metro / AQMD)
- File EEO-1 annually report, maintain records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations
- Provide administrative support including proper maintenance and updating of HRIS records, personnel files, employee information boards, legislation notices, and the company directory
- Perform HR-related analyses and reporting support through HRIS Business Intelligence tool
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- 5+ years HR Generalist experience required, including employee relations, workplace investigations, training and development, performance management, and application of policy
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) required, preferably in UltiPro
- PHR or SHRM-CP highly preferred
- Working knowledge of Federal and State employment laws required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and levels of the organization
- Highly effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team environment
- Ability to acquire ETC certification from Metro / AQMD to manage the employee transportation program
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
