Job Description

Our client is one of the largest securities firms and investment banks in the nation. They provide innovative financial solutions through their Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Futures and Advanced Clearing & Prime Services divisions.

The Operations Division is seeking an Income Processing Specialist. This position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of income (i.e. dividends, interest and principal), proceeds, reinvestments, stock splits, optional dividends and spinoffs, received from various types of instruments and from various sources, to the clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handle income related corporate action events through the full life cycle of these events
  • Mine dividend and interest data from our service bureaus books and records and Depository Trust Company (DTCC)
  • Compare and analyze the two sets of data utilizing Excel to prepare data for the Income Processing Specialists.
  • Pay dividends, interest, principal, maturity proceeds, broker claims and various other charges from different entities
  • Monitor and resolve items in assigned dividend suspense accounts
  • Research and resolve open items
  • Offer high level of client service
  • Assist with processing proxy statements
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required and assigned

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience
  • Knowledge of corporate action and income processing.
  • Strong data management skills are a must
  • Proficient in SQL and very strong Excel skill (i.e. V-Lookup, Visual Basics and Macros) required
  • In-depth understanding of the systems utilized by the group preferred (e.g., SunGard Phase 3, BETA, DTC PBS/PTS)
  • Highly computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent reconciliation and follow up skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy at a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritize daily work flow with little direction
