Overview

Client would like to hire a Project Manager/Business Analyst with both ‘big picture’ perspective and detail-oriented skills, since the job combines Project Management and Business Analysis into one role.  Requires past experience as a Project Manager as well as having strong analysis skills to dive into details and determine project requirements.  Multi-tasking is essential – someone who is able to tackle multiple projects/tasks at the same time. Accounting/General Ledger background is required – either having worked in Accounting or has past experience implementing a new/or upgrading an existing General Ledger System.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising between Business users and Systems for all project stages
  • In-depth analysis to provide project requirements and investigate issues reported
  • Creating Functional Specifications and Business Requirements Documents
  • Creating Project Initiation Documents
  • Maintaining up-to-date project statuses and reporting to Manager and Project Team, etc.
  • Preparing PowerPoint decks and presenting to Steering Committee members
  • Preparing Test Strategies and Test Plans and coordinating SIT and UAT testing schedules
  • Defect Tracking for SIT and UAT Testing
  • Tracking project issues and requested enhancements in JIRA
  • Preparing clear and concise meeting minutes
  • Preparing and updating detailed project plans and production implementation plans
  • Scheduling and coordinating regular project working group meetings

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience in a financial firm – Derivatives and/or Fixed Income is preferred
  • Strong work ethic and dedication/meets target dates
  • Project Management Experience
  • Accounting background – explained above
  • Good analysis and reconciliation skills
  • Can effectively translate Business needs into clear functional requirements (FSD/BRD)
  • Multi- tasking is essential
  • Organized and efficient
  • Both detail-oriented and ‘big picture’ skills are essential
  • Good understanding of system workflows and processes
  • Can effectively interact/liaise with people at various levels
  • Very good communication skills – verbal and written with people at all levels
  • Forthcoming/proactive with status updates and escalations is essential
  • Proficient with MS Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint
  • Experience with JIRA is a plus
