A multinational financial services company with over $1 trillion worth of assets is building out their financial reporting and advisory team to support their capital markets / trading business. The firm had a very strong 2021 and are continuing to grow. This team is unique in the fact that they cover all types of investments that firm makes as opposed to being siloed in one area. They are heavily relied upon for financial analysis from the front office on capital markets activities.

Known to have excellent hours and benefits. This team will be on a hybrid work model 1-2 days a week in office, 3-4 days WFH.

  • Misstatement in the presentation of financial and regulatory data is a material risk that attracts significant reputational risk and risk of action by our regulators that may impact our ability to conduct our business both locally and globally. Additionally, financial data is provided to Head Office for inclusion in the global financial and regulatory reporting process and the CUSO entities must comply with global standards for control, accounting, and regulatory reporting.
  • This role is responsible for providing technical accounting expertise to CUSO legal entity controllers to ensure consistent application of accounting policies to the CUSO. The individual will conduct technical research and contribute to technical accounting policies and specialized accounting functions, ensuring the highest degree of quality in financial statements.
  • The role is responsible for collaborating with business leaders and functional areas including accounting policy group (APG) to provide technical accounting guidance on strategic business transactions, develop accounting position papers that document facts and determine appropriate accounting conclusions.
  • Participate in the U.S. Finance NBC working group and inform U.S. senior management on impact of new NBCs/PARs.
  • Drive collaboration with business units and corporate functions in relation to new products/transactions to identify and resolve all accounting issues.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience from a big 4/national public accounting firm with financial services clients or from a large financial institution with technical accounting experience
