Role:

• Engineer and architect Mainframe solutions, maintain and update existing Mainframe systems.
• Mainframe security-first mentality. Strong understanding of RACF. Knowledge of REXX, zSecure, CARLa are a plus.
• Conducts Mainframe systems programming and support activities, such as engineering new or revising program language codes, processing routines, and report generators. Monitors effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use, and use of database management techniques.
• Prepares and conducts system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software. Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
• Advanced professional leading medium to large projects or working on complex or high-profile issues that require a broad perspective, conceptual thinking, and in-depth analysis to identify solutions.
• May also lead a process or function without direct reports. Demonstrates a depth and breadth of expertise within a discipline, and has a deep understanding of the business, financials, products/services, or market. Develops policies and procedures and recommends best practices.
• Responsible for the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of various system programs, utility programs, job control language, macros, subroutines, and other control modules. Is responsible for the integrity of the operating system environment, including maintenance and installation
• Advises and provides direction to more junior professionals.
