Overview

A leading international financial institution is seeking an Assistant Vice President – Market Risk Governance to join its Risk Management team in New York City. This role offers the opportunity to oversee and strengthen market risk governance across multiple U.S. entities, working closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and global stakeholders. The position is ideal for a risk management professional with strong knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, and U.S. regulatory frameworks who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain entity-level market risk governance in compliance with CFTC, NFA, SEC, FINRA, and FRB regulations.
  • Oversee the Market Risk Governance Framework across U.S. operations, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and update risk policies, procedures, and the Risk Appetite Framework in partnership with relevant departments.
  • Prepare and present market risk materials for senior management and governing committees.
  • Support enterprise risk initiatives, including New Business/Product Approval processes and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) coordination.
  • Collaborate with front office, finance, compliance, legal, audit, and other risk teams to maintain a robust risk management framework.
  • Liaise with liquidity risk, model risk, and other specialized risk functions to support legal entity and enterprise-wide coverage.
  • Apply strong understanding of financial instruments, securities, and derivatives to identify and assess key risks.
